Cohort Documents (password protected)
This Teacher CS 1405/405 Licensure Cohort is lead by NEW Digital Alliance and CESA 7 Computer Science Talent Ecosystem Youth (CSTEY).
The cohort program is designed to assist teachers with moving through the CS 1405/405 licensure prep coursework, with the end result of successful completion of the Computer Science Praxis exam.
As part of the program, teachers will have a support network, connect with local post-secondary professors and IT professionals, and receive tips from current CS licensed teachers.
Program Environment
The Digital Technology and Computer Science Ready cohort provides both an in-person and virtual environment for current certified teachers to expand their knowledge and understanding of computer science topics. By participating in the cohort teachers will have the opportunity to:
- Prepare for the Praxis II Computer Science Exam using the CompuScholar online platform and other cohort participants
- Explore post-secondary careers and programs at local technical colleges and four-year universities
- Visit local Information Technology companies to speak with current workforce to learn more about skills needed for employment
- Explore and implement resources surrounding diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Attend an in-person computer science class at a local university
- Investigate additional computer science and information technology curriculum opportunities such as cyber security, data analytics, and artificial intelligence
- Connect with other computer science teachers throughout the state
Who Should Apply:
Any Wisconsin based middle school or high school teacher wishing to complete their CS 1405/405 licensure. Cohort selection will bias toward teachers located in the 18 counties of Northeast Wisconsin.
