UW Oshkosh is taking the lead in promoting informatics in education, research, and business through its new School of Informatics. This school engages students and regional organizations to better understand and apply cutting-edge technology (such as AI and cybersecurity) into the curriculum and organization’s daily operations.

Informatics is the art, science, technology, and business of transforming data into useful knowledge to improve lives and advance society by making information more accessible, accurate, impactful, and secure.
